Ayatollah Khomeini

Yesterday Marked the Aniversary of the heavenly departure of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
It is not him, who in death, has been made less, but us, left to carry on the struggle which he revived, who are in danger of being made any less.
May his soul find rest with Allah, and may he be in the company of the saints and the Martyrs.
Oh Allah! May you hasten the Return of our Imam, the Imam of the Ages. Surely we Praise you for the Mercy you bestowed on our Community by sending to us such a pious soul. May we stand proud of such recognition, as you have said that we will never be helped until we improve the contitions within us. It is our Honor to have done something to have deserved from you, a gift such as Imam Khomeini. May we still, with your leave, continue in his path, until theReturn of our Imam Mahdi, and the Resurection of all things.

Every day is Ashura, Every Land is Karbala!

This is an Essay written by a Shia Brother of Mine. It's on the subject of today, Ashura. I had another written here, but this one is so much more informative, so I stole his. his name is Dawood abu Adam.
So read on, and try and learn something!
Salaam Alaikum brothers and sisters,Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim....Imam Hussein (as) - Every day is Ashura. Every land is Karbala! - Every year on the 10th of Muharam the Shia Muslims all over the world commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. The commemoration start from the first day and the peak reached on the 10th day. Imam Hussein is the grand son of Prophet Mohammad from his daughter Fatima and his cousin and son in law Ali Bin Abi Talib. Prophet Mohammad used to call him and his brother Hassan as his beloved sons. He is the one who chose their names after they born. They grow in the environment of Bano Hashem, the tribe of Mohammad and Ali. Unlike Bano Omaiyah, Bano Hashem rejects corruption, oppression and racial discrimination. Bano Omaiyah considers themselves above the others and the Arabs above the non Arabs. This discrimination reached its peak during the reign of Maawiyah Bin Abo Sofiyan and his son Yazid in Damascus in Syria. One of the major causes for Imam Hussein to reject the leadership of Maawiyah and Yazid is because of their corruption, oppression, slavery and injustice. It is very difficult to elaborate about the history in details but will try to write very briefly about the main points. After the death of Prophet Mohammad and before his burial a new era of struggle for power started. Al Insars who were the inhabitants of Madinah gathered in a place called Saqefat Bani Saiedah which is their community meeting place and selected among them Saad Bin Uobadah to be the leader. The Mohajreen who migrated with Prophet Mohammad the tribe of Koriesh heard this. They left the body of the Prophet and want to the same place. The two sides clashed and argued about who should be the leader. The scene was chaotic with threats from both sides. Ali and the family of Prophet haven't attended and have been ignored. Ali was adopted by Mohammad when he was a boy to help his uncle Abi Talib during economical crises. He was the son in law of the Prophet, his cousin, and brother by choice and the first one to embrace Islam after the prophet and his deputy at least according to many Muslims at that time. Ali was poor and he was disliked by the rich aristocrats of Qurishis. The meeting resulted in taking allegiance to Abo Baker who was one of the Immigrants to Madenah. Some Muslims rejected and some asked to wait until Ali and the prophet kinsmen finished from his burial but the matter moved forward by some. That was a breakthrough point in the history of division in Islam. Soon after this many Muslims refused to pay charity to Abo Baker and that was suppressed by force led by Khaled Bin Alwaled who killed the leader of the region Malek Bin Nowerah and married his beautiful wife on the same day! Ali (the father of Hussein) hasn't submitted his allegiance until the death of Fatima 6 months later. At this time the power established well in the hands of Abo Baker and Omar and have he not doing so he may have been killed. Abo baker and Omar used Ali as a consultant for them. During the reign of Othman who is from Bano Omayiah there were a lot of unrest in Egypt and Iraq and other parts due to the oppressive and unjust behaviours of the local leaders. Othman appointed leaders among his family and some of them are arrogant to the people. The unrest resulted in surrounding Othman house and Ali tried to stop things but was unable so the revolted people killed Othman. This was a major point in the history of Islam. Here the division started to take a different shape. Now Ali has been selected by the people to lead and he refused initially but the revolted people and others convinced him that they need his leadership now! He accepted but Muawyaih in Damascus who was the cousin of Othman refused that and entered into many wars with Ali. After the death of Ali (killed during prayer in Kuffa mosque), Maawiyah signed agreement with Ali's eldest Son Hassan to stop blood shade and the power will go to Al Hassan after him but Maawiyah killed Al Hassan by putting poison in his honey. He then forced every one to give allegiance to his son Yazid after him. After his death Yazid sent for Madenah to ask the people to recognize him as the leader. He instructed his army if any one refused to give allegiance to be killed and named Al Hussein as one of the most important people to start with.Yazid was arrogant, oppressive, and unjust man. His messenger to Al Hussein in the governor of Al Madenah HQ asked Al Hussein after summoning him to submit his will to Yazid. Imam Hussein knew if he does so it means the end of the moral aspects in the religion and the acceptance of the slavery dictatorship of Yazid. He refused and asked the messenger to wait for a while. Imam Hussein then decided to leave with his family (wife, children, brothers and some others) to Iraq because he knew Yazid already planned to assassinate him. He took his family because if he leaves them Yazid will take them as captives. The followers of his father and grand father in Iraq have written to him before to go there and provide him with protection. He then made his mind and went from Madenah to Makkah then across the desert towards Kuffa. Yazid arranged a huge army of 33,000 men very well equipped and appointed Oubiad Alla Bi Ziad as the governor of Kuffa. Bin Ziad was a known person for his arrogance, un-mercifulness, oppression, and every thing inhuman. He was governor on Basrah. Since his arrival to Kuffa worked in two ways, threat and killing and buying the people with money. He captured the messenger of Imam Hussein and his cousin Muslim Bin Akeel; beating him and throws him from the roof of the palace then crucified him with Hani Bin Urowa his hostess. Yazid sent his strongest army while Bin Ziad sent an army to surround Imam Hussein and his family and prevent them from changing their direction until Yazid army arrives. Imam Hussein have just over 100 with him most of them among his family. They forced Imam Hussein and his family (the family of Prophet Mohammad) to retreat to Kerbala. Kerbala is two phrases word; ker means anguish and bala means vexation. Imam Hussein debated with them that they are themselves send for him to come and tried to convince them that they are in actual fact surrounding the women and children of their Prophet but they refused to let him to go. They said that he has to submit completely his will to Bin Ziad and then Yazid or he will face his fate. He showed them more than 500 letters that they sent but they denied it! After a long journey through the desert his children were thirsty as well as the women and the men. They prevent him from the Euphrates water. He got a 6 months old baby who was crying aggressively for water and he took him to the army asking for water just for this baby, instead they throw the baby with a dart which strike him on his neck and killed him instantly. Imam Hussein then took the blood of his baby in his hand and throw it to heaven asking God to witness what these people done to a baby belong to the family of their prophet. On the 10th of Muharam around midday Yazid army attacked Imam Hussein camp. Imam Hussein first advised them saying that we are until now one nation but if the sword happened between us then we became two nations; you are one and we are different. From that time the practical division between Shias and Sunni manifest itself very clearly and widely. Shia means the supporters or followers of, and here it means the supporters of Ali and Ahil Al Biat which means the family of the Prophet Mohammad. The night before the war Imam Hussein gathered his family and followers and told them that the army want him himself and so he told them you are free to go while it is dark but all of them refused. One of those who fought with him was a Christian young man called John. In few hours they killed every one and when Imam Hussein remained alone he asked loudly if there is any one protects the family of the messenger of God! They attacked him and then racked him with the feet of their horses when he tumbled. They then cut his head and the heads of his brothers and followers and raise them on spears.
After this they attacked the women and put the tents in fire. The children escaped in all directions and the women tried to protect them. They beaten the children and women by the whips and ripped off their belonging. Then they took them as captives!!! Children and women!! Among them was Zainab the sister of Imam Hussein who witnessed the massacre of her sons, brothers, nephews and other relatives in the bloodiest way of barbaric killing.Bin Ziad looked to the head of Imam Hussein and start to strike his mouth with a cane, feeling the joy and happiness filling his sadistic inhuman personality. He then turned to humiliate the women of the family of Prophet Mohammad. Zainab then delivered a strong speech describing the magnitude of their crime. Bin Ziad ordered his guards to kill Ali the son of Hussein who was a young boy and haven't joined the battle because he was ill. Zainab throw her self over the boy and said if you want to kill him you have to kill me first before him. Bin Ziad withdraws his devilish wish after Zainab insistence. The army then took the women and children on a camel caravan to Damascus. They passed many cities and villages. They told the people that those women and children are among foreigners who were out law and refused to submit to the Caliph Yazid. Fear and Terror producing strategy exactly like Saddam. They haven't told the truth that they are the prophet's family to prevent revolt. Before they arrive to Damascus there was a Priest in his remote chapel he spotted the caravan from a distance and saw a light shining from the head of Hussein up to the sky. The Priest stopped them and asked them who is that head for? They refused to tell him. After he gave them money they told him that the head belongs to Al Hussein the son of Fatima the daughter of Prophet Mohammad. He got some money with him and asked them to take it and let the head with him for a while. They took the money and gave him the head. The Priest washed it and heard recitation of the holly Quran coming from the head! In Damascus Yazid put them chained in a ruin before depart them to Madenah. Many of the children died from starvation, diseases and beating during this long journey. The little daughter of Imam Hussein while in the abandond ruin in Damascus start to cry and insisted to see her father. Zainab tried to please her but she never stopped crying. Then they brought the head and told her this is your father. She hugged the head and took a deep sigh and passed. Imam Hussein remembered as a symbol of freedom and dignity against tyrant and slavery. Hussein never bowed to tyrant and oppressive regime of Yazid. This is why the similar tyrant like Saddam prevents the commemoration because of its symbolic state which rejects not only Yazid but every tyrant in history like Saddam. Ghandi the strongman of India said (I learnt from Hussein how I be tyrannized and achieve victory!). A woman who was mourning in Muharam has been asked about it. She said to mourn for a beloved one is a personal thing which will fade with time but to mourn for Imam Hussein is to mourn for the mankind which will never fade as far as there is tyranny and oppression and slavery. Imam Hussein said; dignified death is better than humiliating life. Many intellectuals wrote about Imam Hussein. Gerhard Konsilman a German journalist said that Yazid used to despise the people, salving and oppressing them and irresponsible sinful person. Imam Hussein by his realistic personality and death defeated the tyrant. His revolt was the ignition for the end of Umayyad density. Konsilman added that the dead Hussein was more dangerous on Yazid than the live Hussein. The martyrdom of Hussein in Kerbala remained the symbol for freedom, dignity and rejection of the tyrants. There are some similarities between Jesus Christ and Hussein in that both of them rejected tyrant and wrongful and gave themselves in the way of freedom, salvation, dignity and righteous aspect of life. Their path is one and their salvation is by following their path of peace and justice. Before them Moses and Aaron defied the tyranny of Pharaoh and Aaron was deemed weak by his own people when Moses left to receive the Ten Commandments. Al Hussein will remain as a revolution against all tyrants and oppressors. He will continue as a symbol for dignity and freedom for all the mankind and not only the Shias Muslims.

An article so great I had to repost it. unfortunately I dont know the original author.

I think, therefore I am, said the philosopher. Fine. But I think, therefore I speak? No way. Nobody has an absolute right to freedom. Civilisation is the story of humans sacrificing freedom so as to live together in harmony. We do not need Hobbes to tell us that absolute freedom is for newborn savages. All else is compromise. Should a right-wing Danish newspaper have carried the derisive images of Muhammad? No. Should other newspapers have repeated them and the BBC teasingly “flashed” them to prove its free-speech virility? No. Should governments apologise for them or ban them from repeating the offence? No, but that is not the issue. A newspaper is not a monastery, its mind blind to the world and deaf to reaction. Every inch of published print reflects the views of its writers and the judgment of its editors. Every day newspapers decide on the balance of boldness, offence, taste, discretion and recklessness. They must decide who is to be allowed a voice and who not. They are curbed by libel laws, common decency and their own sense of what is acceptable to readers. Speech is free only on a mountain top; all else is editing. Despite Britons’ robust attitude to religion, no newspaper would let a cartoonist depict Jesus Christ dropping cluster bombs, or lampoon the Holocaust. Pictures of bodies are not carried if they are likely to be seen by family members. Privacy and dignity are respected, even if such restraint is usually unknown to readers. Over every page hovers a censor, even if he is graced with the title of editor. To imply that some great issue of censorship is raised by the Danish cartoons is nonsense. They were offensive and inflammatory. The best policy would have been to apologise and shut up. For Danish journalists to demand “Europe-wide solidarity” in the cause of free speech and to deride those who are offended as “fundamentalists . . . who have a problem with the entire western world” comes close to racial provocation. We do not go about punching people in the face to test their commitment to non-violence. To be a European should not involve initiation by religious insult. Many people seem surprised that a multicultural crunch should have come over religion rather than race. Most incoming migrants from the Muslim world are in search of work and security. They have accepted racial discrimination and cultural subordination as the price of admission. Most Europeans, however surreptitiously, regard that subordination as reasonable. What Muslims did not expect was that admission also required them to tolerate the ridicule of their faith and guilt by association with its wildest and most violent followers in the Middle East. Islam is an ancient and dignified religion. Like Christianity its teaching can be variously interpreted and used for bloodthirsty ends, but in itself Islam has purity and simplicity. Part of that purity lies in its abstraction and part of that abstraction is an aversion to icons. The Danes must have known that a depiction of Allah as human or the prophet Muhammad as a terrorist would outrage Muslims. It is plain dumb to claim such blasphemy as just a joke concordant with the western way of life. Better claim it as intentionally savage, since that was how it was bound to seem. To adapt Shakespeare, what to a Christian “is but a choleric word”, to a Muslim is flat blasphemy. Of all the casualties of globalism, religious sensibility is the most hurtful. I once noticed in Baghdad airport an otherwise respectable Iraqi woman go completely hysterical when an American guard set his sniffer dog, an “unclean” animal, on her copy of the Koran. The soldier swore at her: “Oh for Christ’s sake, shut up!” She was baffled that he cited Christ in defence of what he had done. Likewise, to an American or British soldier, forcibly entering the women’s quarters of an Arab house at night is normal peacekeeping. To an Arab it is abhorrent, way beyond any pale. Nor do Muslims understand the West’s excusing such actions, as does Tony Blair, by comparing them favourably with those of Saddam Hussein, as if Saddam were the benchmark of international behaviour. It is clearly hard for westerners to comprehend the dismay these gestures cause Muslims. The question is not whether Muslims should or should not “grow up” or respect freedom of speech. It is whether we truly want to share a world in peace with those who have values and religious beliefs different from our own. The demand by foreign journalists that British newspapers compound their offence shows that moral arrogance is as alive in the editing rooms of northern Europe as in the streets of Falluja. That causing religious offence should be regarded a sign of western machismo is obscene. The traditional balance between free speech and respect for the feelings of others is evidently becoming harder to sustain. The resulting turbulence can only feed the propaganda of the right to attack or expel immigrants and those of alien culture. And it can only feed the appetite of government to restrain free speech where it really matters, as in criticising itself. There is little doubt that had the Home Office’s original version of its religious hatred bill been enacted, publishing the cartoons would in Britain have been illegal. There was no need to prove intent to cause religious hatred, only “recklessness”. Even as amended by parliament the bill might allow a prosecution to portray the cartoons as insulting and abusive and to dismiss the allowed defence that the intention was to attack ideas rather than people. The same zest for broad-sweep censorship was shown in Charles Clarke’s last anti-terrorism bill. Its bid (again curbed by parliament) was to outlaw the “negligent”, even if unintended, glorification of terrorism. It wanted to outlaw those whose utterances might have celebrated or glorified a violent change of government, whether or not they meant to do so. Clarke proposed to list “under order” those historical figures he regarded as terrorists and those he decided were “freedom fighters”. The latter, he intimated, might include Irish ones. This was historical censorship of truly Stalinist ambition. By such men are we now ruled.
I couldn't have posibly said it better myself!

Hillary must be so proud. Its Official, in the South American country of Chile, the commies have done it again. This time electing Michelle Bachelet as its new president. Apparently some people just dont learn,
It would be foolish for the US not to accept at least some responsibility for the early success of Communism, and perhaps its continuation in the Pseudo intellectual circles of young Kids in School, Aching to make their mark, to stand up and be different. We have long the the posterboy for corperate greed gone amuck. when ofter our big business makes our laws and policies for us.
But it is 2006, how has no one learned? Yes Communism looks good on paper. it appears to be Everything which as children we are taught to Value, Sharing, compassion, Fair Play and Equal opprotunity for Everyone! But in Practice it is a far cry from the Utopia it promises to be. As certain as death and Taxes, is man's ever present hope for more. More food, more commodities, more provisions for ones family, This will ALWAYS drive us to aspire to get more by competing with others, and in a society where competition is outlawed by the Government, Naturaly Coruption will ensue. Just as Man's desire for escape and excess will always make the Drug war un winnable, his desire to strive for more will make Communism inevitably fail.
However practical it may have seemed to Che in 1950's Cuba (and I do greatly Admire Che), we have seen the end result now. Yes it looks fun to try, but whats the excuse for these people today (not the kids who never lived with a Berlin Wall, but the Adults)? How can they think... "this time it will work, I will succede where Lenin and stalin and castro and Mao ALL failed." ? This is an Epic Desaster in US Foreign Policy. Yes we must combat current terrorism... but what about these countries? If we dont lend support to the dying Right wing Parties then these coutries will become a dangerous Mixture of Anti American Politics, poverty, and Weapons, and will eventualy, Naturaly export "the Revolution" to American Cites in the form of Anti Capitalist Attacks. Communism is dead, but it is our Job as Americans to make sure it stays dead. Remember... Aim for the head... It's the only way to keep it down!

Abu Hamza Al Masri, and the Other Wahabis

"Radical cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri urged followers to "bleed" the enemies of Islam and train their children for violence"
-David Stringer
Here in Lies the Problem, this kind of man has become the Image that people have of Islam. When people blidly follow the preachings of uneducated self proclaimed Clerics then all of us Suffer. whereas men like Muhammed Baqir As-Sadr have written down manuals detailing exactly how a fatwah can be extracted from the Quran and Sunnah, some people just gain a few friends that think they are outspoken and "poof!" they become a Cleric. This jackass first of all has no formal credentials, and while his followers may claim that "credentials" are just the "systems" way of filtering out radicals, he lacks essential training on exactly how to pronounce fatwahs and how to lead people. his psuedo Credentials are based on the fact that he did alittle work in Afghanistan, other than that, he shouts about how good Bin Laden is. He speaks out against the Government of Brittian, yet Recieves Welfare from them!
He leads a group called "Supporters of Shariah" ( http://www.shareeah.org/2.html ) and has for years now espoused a doctrine of Absolute War between Islam and the West. Now I am by no means a friend of the west, I have caused my share of suspision to be thrown upon me, but in the end, while I believe that the Values of the West are eroding and that Naturaly the Values of Faith will and must take over. this being said I would never see things so narrowly as to think that only bloodshed can resolve our differences. there are, and will be again times when this is the case, and Violence is needed. But the Vast Majority of Americans do not even know what Muslims are pissed off at, so to say their blood should be spilled is insane.
I fully support freedom of speach and do not think that England should ba able to arrest this nutsack just for talking, but they were GIVING HIM MONEY TO LIVE OFF OF! This is above and beyond freedom of speach, this prosecution is long over due. he should have been cut off long Ago. If he is Assured that Allah is on his side, the Quran says that Allah will provide, So why is this Idiot Commiting Shirk (polytheism) by depending on England ?

This is What I'm Talking about.

Mehmet Ali Agca was freed from prison Thursday nearly 25 years after he shot Pope John Paul II, with supporters welcoming him with flowers
(from Forbes)
This is the silly sort of Shit I am talking about. This Man shot the Pope, not Jerry Falwell, not Billy Grahm, but the POPE! I know that many Christians would argue that Grahm is more importent than the pope and that he is just some theocratic king in rome, but undeniably the papacy is the single oldest human representative of the Christian Faith still in existence. We As Muslims are ther Enemies of EVIL... not non Muslims in General. Pope John Paul the second had done more for the cause of Muslims than any other pope. He refused to Recognise the State of Israel until she at least improved her treatment of Palestinians. He met with Arafat (an Idiot but none the less this was a crucial moment), And he helped (before he was pope actualy) to form the official church position that the Church would now teach that Muslims did indeed worship the same God As Christians.
In Todays Ummah (muslim Society) we tend to percieve all non Muslims as being clumped into the group of Enemies of Islam, and we want to fight those different from us. Many Scholars have already taken the needed steps of declaring Christians to be a friendly people to Muslims and Many Christian leaders have appologised for the Crusades, what is needed now is for the Lay-Muslim to educate himself or herself as the case may be on the reasoning behind these decisions becausae we may find that our differences are based on perception rather than fact. America is good, the government is not a fixed thing so some are good and some bad, but as a people, America embraces people of other faiths and wishes sucess for those eager to throw off the shackels of despotism, ergo America is inherently Friendly to true Muslims, but through the ignorence and shortsightedness of its leadership historically it has put its self into the "great satan" role. But even then Muslims cannot sweepingly critisize ALL Christians or Christian Nations. this man was a Criminal (and some suggest a pawn of the mossad) and he deserves to Die for what he did. For those Catholics who would point out that John Paul II forgave him and that the church preaches Against the Death penalty... hey if not for the death penalty, you guys wouldnt even have a religion.

Installing Liberal Leaders in Muslim Countries.

When the US makes friends, it would only make sence that it does it like the rest of us do, that it would make friends who share interests and Values. I dont mean Exactly like you or I do, I dont think that the US gets on a chatroom somewhere and says "hey any sexy female coutries out there wanna chat?" and then Switzerland Emails us and says "ooh I like your profile pic, my boyfriend is out of town and I'm all Alone and feeling naughty, but then when we look at the profile we find out its not even switzerland, its some really old creepy Gay Country (like France lets say) and were like, hey no offence but I dont swing that way.
No. but when we do make friends, it seems we have a trend of buddying up to leaders who are the opposite of the leaders we choose for ourselves. usualy left wing modern anti religious neo stalins who will brutally surpress their own people in order to please us.
We don't in this manner, Make any meaningfull allies because these people are Naturaly Overthrown with time, and then because we supported such evil oppressors, there is a natural anti American Backlash by the Very people we would most want (as a democratic nation) to support us, the public masses. these leaders are kind of like the really Hot girl at the end of the Bar, yes, no one would argue that they will probably be really good for a one night stand, and will be one hell of a notch on our bed posts, but for a meaningfull relationship, we might want to take another look at the Girl across the room, spreading rumors out of jealousy that the hot girl is anorexic or has genital warts. This is the kind of girl to pick up, maybe a little ugly and not quite our type, but in the end, she will probably be a better cook and there isnt as much chance we will find her in the sack with one of our Poker buddies. Plus the Ugly Girl will love us and so she might be more willing to do the weird stuff. YOU know what I mean.
back to the point, when we form relations with the more conservative leaders in the Middle East, like in Iran for example, their interests will not lie directly in line with ours but they are truely commited to their own people, which, while it creates stumbling blocks in international relations, makes for a more mutualy benifitial relationship over time because a rocky relationship that lasts a hundred years is better than a great one that lasts Five after which we get some ultra wackjob whose only purpose in life is to destry America.
The question remains, if not for the Sadaam, the Saudis, and King Hussain... would we even have an Usamah Bin Laden?

Just a Little Introduction

I hope everyone will Enjoy this new Blog Idea of mine.
I am an American Muslim (shia), but unlike alot of my brothers and sisters, I am a conservative. its rare these days. It seems that in the wake of 9-11 Muslims have rallied around the left in throngs in an attempt to "fight back" against what they see as injustice done to the Ummah by the Bush Government. This is a betrayal of their faith and their Values. Islam teaches that marriage is between men and women, yet the left would change the law to allow gay marriage. Islam teaches the existence of an all powerfull God (Allah) yet the left in its extreme forms (communism) teaches that there is no God, and even in its more moderate forms goes above and beyond to limit Gods influence on society. by whining and crying because we say "one nation under God" in our pledge, or putting "in God we trust" on our money. They would see a world where our chilr\dren are shamed for believing in Fairytales like religion, and where our girls would grow up believing that it somehow liberates them the less clothes they wear, and our boys would be taught that fighting for what is right, is still violent so it shouldnt be done.
If anyone agrees with these points, well as time goes by read more, and comment, if you disagree... then you're stupid and a communist so you and your comrades should definately read more and learn something.
